Bianca Jakobsson
Club: St Kilda
Playing Honours:
Womens Exhibition Game 2016
Casey Demons Runner Up B&F 2019
Selected with Carlton's first pick of the 2016 AFLW Draft, Bianca was considered as one of the 'elite' players of Womens Football before making her AFLW debut in Round 1 against Collingwood in front of a packed IKON Park.
Enjoying a great first season mainly used as a forward, Bianca used her exceptional skills and decision making to become one of the Blues most damaging players. This was a fine achievement, especially given she was coming off a serious knee injury which saw her out of the game for two years.
At the conclusion of the first season, Bianca was traded to Melbourne where she settled into her new surrounds immediately as the club welcomed her with open arms. In what was a positive season but difficult year as the team fell agonisingly short of a Grand Final berth, Bianca had a solid season and was included in the AFLW All Australian Squad.
Unfortunately Bianca had to step away from playing in 2020 as she was embarking on the final components of joining the Police of which the requirements of her Academy program would clash with her footy. Having missed the season, Bianca and Melbourne decided to part ways and she took the opportunity to sign with St Kilda until 2022.
