The face of the NBL’s resurgence in Australia, Chris is regarded as the sharp shooter of the competition. An offensive threat which every opposition team puts endless hours of work into shutting down, CG’s on court prowess combined with his infectious nature has resulted in him becoming a fan favourite.

Starting his NBL journey up in Queensland for the Brisbane Bullets, Chris showed early in his career how capable he could become at the professional level, even though his opportunities were limited due to the quality of his experienced team mates. Tasting the ultimate success early on in his career in 2007, Chris was hungry for more court time in order to continue to develop his game. This saw him head to the Perth Wildcats for a season before returning back to Queensland to play for the Gold Coast Blaze where he enjoyed three seasons with the club before they had to pull out of the competition.

At this stage of his career, Chris had proved he was a future star of Australian Basketball so his next move was critical. Joining the Melbourne Tigers for the 2012-13 NBL season, Chris was named the MVP of the NBL All Star Game which caught the attention of some NBA teams with an invitation extended by the Cleveland Cavaliers to join them for the 2013 NBA Summer League. Finding the experience hugely beneficial, he returned to the Melbourne Tigers scoring a career high 50 points in a game against the Sydney Kings and was subsequently named the scoring champion for the league.

Using the momentum from the season, he returned to the NBA to play for the Dallas Mavericks in the Summer League before opting to play in Europe for the 2014 - 15 season. Upon moving back to Australia, Chris become the face of the NBL’s newest franchise Melbourne United and became a marquee player of the competition. Enjoying some of his most consistent performances, United have regularly been finals contenders, including winning the 2017 - 18 NBL Title.

In addition to his NBL career, Chris has also been fortunate to represent Australia at both youth and senior level. A team member of the Under 18’s, Under 19’s, and Under 20’s team, he has also represented the Boomers in the 2016 Olympic Games, 2018 Commonwealth Games winning Gold, as well as winning Gold at the 2015 FIBA Oceania Championships.
