Recruited From: 2018 NAB AFL Rookie Draft, Pick 28 from Brighton Grammar (APS)

Achievements:

  • First XVIII School Football Captain

The Brighton Grammar product who captained the School’s First XVIII in 2018, found his way to Sydney in the Rookie Draft at pick 28. After following a slightly different path to his AFL dream, Harry decided to put his School Football first rather than focus on playing in the TAC Cup. However after making a promising start to the APS season, various AFL Clubs started to follow his journey and the decision was made to head down to the Sandringham Dragons for the last few rounds of the season once the APS Season had finished.

It was during these games at Sandringham whereby AFL recruiters were able to rate his performances against some of the best talent in the country and take him into serious Draft consideration. Harry was invited to the State Combine where he tested and interviewed well, and was closely linked to a number of clubs.

Slipping through the Draft, the Swans swooped in the Rookie Draft and Harry was on a plane to the Harbour city within 48 hours to commence his AFL career. Showing continued development, Harry was close to a senior call up during the middle part of the 2019 season before suffering a back injury which prevented him from playing any further games for the season. Unfortunately Harry suffered the same fate in 2020, when after consistent performances in the Reserves, he suffered a season ending shoulder injury. Hopefully with the injuries behind him, Harry can enjoy some continuity moving forward.
