Carlton Best First Year Player 2018
Growing up playing footy with her family in the backyard, it wasn't until 2017 that Maddi took up the game seriously when she was convinced by few friends to have a kick at the St Kilda Sharks in the VFLW.
Making an immediate impact for the Sharks, a number of AFLW Clubs began enquiring about the newest team member, before Carlton swooped with putting Maddi on the Rookie List ahead of the 2018 Season. In an amazing effort, Maddi featured in all of Carlton's 2018 games playing largely in the midfield where it was evident her confidence and ability grew as the season went on. This resulted in Maddi being awarded Carlton's Best First Year Player. However at the conclusion of what was a disappointing season for the Blues, as well as losing there coach, Maddi accepted an offer to join Melbourne.
Having made an easy transition into her new club, Maddi quickly established herself in the midfield showing her trademark acceleration from the contest. After narrowly missing the finals in 2019, the Demons looked like one of the teams to beat in 2020 before the season was cut short due to Covid.
Maddi is a former elite Netballer where she played for Melbourne University Lightning, Melbourne, and Ballarat Pride.
