The hard running defender enjoyed his best season for the Western Bulldogs in 2015 playing 14 games and averaging 16 disposals. Showing his versatility, Michael has the ability to either lock down on tall or small forwards, or can be used as an offensive weapon off the half back flack with his dash. Having enjoyed four seasons at the Bulldogs, the club his grandfather, Harvey Stevens played 72 games with including the 1954 Premiership, Michael was traded to the Sydney Swans for a future fourth round pick.
After a positive preseason, Michael made his debut for the Swans in Round 1 of the 2016 season making a very promising start to the game before incurring a serious foot injury. This has prohibited Michael playing any further part in the 2016 season after a number of setbacks, however his recovery is well on track and he is looking forward to next season already.
Michael attended Assumption College and went through the Calder Cannons pathway, which are both renowned for producing AFL players.
Away from football, Michael has completed a Personal Training certificate.
